Are you looking for a simple way to edit images and create amazing collages for your blog, Pinterest, Facebook and other social networks?
In this review, I’m going to show you how PicMonkey can help you simplify online photo editing and design.
I started using PicMonkey a few years ago and it’s become a standard in my online toolbox.
Why Use PicMonkey?
PicMonkey is an online image editor and design tool. A few years ago, I had to figure out a way to edit images for my blog and social media postings.
I didn’t want to pay the huge fee for programs like PhotoShop and was not able to find a suitable computer based solution.
In addition, I was traveling a lot and needed to access the image editor from multiple devices.
That’s when I found PicMonkey. It fit my needs perfectly and saved me a lot of time.
Here’s why PicMonkey is Worth it
You are probably wondering: “Is PicMonkey worth it?”
Although PicMonkey has a LOT of features that you’ll love, these are the features that had me hooked! Enjoy this PicMonkey review!
Access from Anywhere
Being able to upload and edit images from anywhere is super important. Who wants to be in only one place to access a photo editor? If using a computer based program, I would have to run home every time I needed to edit something. With PicMonkey you can edit images from wherever you happen to be as long as you have Internet access.
Export Images to Multiple Destinations
Being able to export images from PicMonkey to many convenient places made a huge difference for me. You can export your photos to your computer, Google drive, DropBox, and Onedrive.
I often travel with a ChromeBook laptop where I use all Google services. I can just hop onto PicMonkey at any time and download to Google Drive. Then I can access those images from anywhere.
It’s fast too and PicMonkey gives you 3 types of export quality:
- Roger – Low resolution
- Pierce – Great resolution
- Sean High resolution
Edit Images after Saving to PicMonkey’s Hub
This is the most powerful tool that I love! Before I started using the Hub, I wasn’t able to edit images that I created in PicMonkey.
Now, I can just save my edited photos in PicMonkey’s hub and edit them as needed.
That’s a huge time saver for me since I don’t have recreate anything. It’s also helpful when I need to create a similar image and can use an existing one as a template.
Lots of Templates to Choose From
If you are not creative like me, then you’ll love the templates included with PicMonkey. You can choose from several categories.
If you are a Pinterest pinner, you’ll have plenty of templates to choose from to create amazing pins!
It’s been a real time saver for me in coming up with ideas!
Lots of Photo Effects to Work With
If you love applying a variety of effects to your images, then you’ll love the variety that PicMonkey gives you.
The effects are fun and can help you create unique designs.
That’s not all.
PicMonkey has some great tools for touching up every part of your facial photos. From wrinkle remover to lip tint and hair highlights, the touch up tools alone are worth it!
What is the Cost of PicMonkey Membership?
For a long time, PicMonkey was free. They recently switched to a paid membership mode with three different payment levels.
The good news?
You can try it out for 7 days and see if it’s a good fit for you.
You can choose from Premium or Supremium. I decided to go with the Premium membership as it fits my needs for now. I will likely upgrade to Supremium when it comes time to renew.
The cost is well-worth it for me since it saves me a ton of time.
- PicMonkey Premium membership will cost you $3.99 per month when you pay a year in advance. Otherwise it’s $7.99 per month.
- PicMonkey Supremium will cost you $8.33 per month billed annually. This is a great option if you plan to store more than 50 edited images in the Hub.
How to Save PicMonkey without a Membership
Well, you cannot save in PicMonkey if you do not have a membership. Hopefully this will save you some time, because you can go through the whole process of creating an awesome image, but then you can’t save it.
When you click the Export menu, you will get a popup window where you can either start your membership or log in if you already have an account.
I recommend that you do not create images if you don’t already have an account because you won’t be able to download your masterpiece.
How to Cancel PicMonkey Membership
If you decide to cancel your trial membership, it’s super easy to do so.
- Log into your PicMonkey account.
- In the upper right, click the menu and select My Account.
- Under Your Membership, click Cancel Membership.
It’s super easy to cancel your membership if you decide that it’s not for you. But make sure you try out ALL the features before you make a decision to cancel!
Final Thoughts
Using PicMonkey has saved me a lot of time! Using their templates and being able to edit saved images has been a lifesaver. You can check out all the features and create amazing images while seeing if it’s a good fit for you!
I tried a trial of picmonkey awhile so, so to upgrade I’d have to pay. Can you create customized social media graphics with the paid for all platforms? Thanks
Hey Gina! Thanks for asking. PicMonkey has social media templates for Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter.
I really love what they offer.
Lisa
Thank you. I think I’ll pay for a month and see if I like it or not. I like the idea of using one program, not 2 to do one job.
You can always cancel if you find it’s not a good fit for you. Hope you like it! Enjoy and happy blogging.
